After Maynard Ferguson had been using his Monette MF II mouthpiece for years, we set about creating a newer version for him. We wanted it to have an even more comfortable rim, even more efficient cup, and even bigger targets for greater efficiency an ease. The result was the MF III and it has been our #1 most popular smaller-diameter lead mouthpiece size since 2003. Unlike some of the historic non-Monette 'Maynard-style' mouthpieces, the MF III has a rim and cup design that almost any player will find to be comfortable and easy to play. If you like a comfortable rim, big but bright lead sound, easy upper register, and extremely consistent pitch and timbre, the MF III is a perfect choice.

The MF III is typically made in the lightweight Resonance LT body.
The MF III can also be made in the extra-lightweight Resonance XLT body (Prana configuration only) for players who prefer an even brighter lead sound.
